Instagram: The Place To Be

Do you have a business?
Yeah, that’s right, I’m talking to you. And if you are sitting there thinking, “Wait, I don’t even have a business,” don’t worry. Just think about a specific business you know well as I continue to ask you some rhetorical questions.
How have you seen this business promote itself? Are they putting ads on bus stops? Billboards? Magazines? The weekly newspaper!? These can all be great ways to communicate with the public, and for years, these media vehicles (and others I did not mention, like TV, radio, etcetera, etcetera) have been crucial for business success.
That being said, today’s latest and greatest technology has quickly captured our attention and pulled us into the digital world. In fact, the most recent available data shows that the average person spends around 2 hours and 24 minutes on social media every day. In other words, we spend a lot of time and energy looking down at our devices.
What About Social Media?
This is exactly why advertising on social networking sites has become and will continue to be more important than ever when it comes to promoting a business. It is where people are spending their time, it is where their attention is focused, and it is where brands need to show up if they want to stay relevant.
And even more importantly, it is about finding the right platform to promote that business. Not every social media site will work best for every brand, and understanding where your audience is most engaged makes all the difference in building a strong online presence.
It can feel a bit overwhelming to figure out which platforms are truly worth the effort. But if there is one social media that consistently stands out as a valuable part of a business’s marketing plan, I can confidently say it’s Instagram.
Why Instagram?
If you’re not a social media expert like me, you may not be aware that Instagram is considered an image-based social network. This is basically a fancy way of saying the platform focuses on using pictures to tell a story, also known as visual storytelling. Using pictures can be extremely beneficial for businesses, especially since visual content has been shown to get more engagement and can help to build a stronger connection with audiences.
According to Hootsuite, Instagram’s unique features like Stories and Reels make the platform a great place to show off products and connect with users more creatively. These features allow businesses to use the platform in ways beyond just posting images!
With so many ways to reach customers, Instagram stands out as an essential tool for any business looking to grow. The platform offers so many unique ways to engage audiences and showcase products beyond traditional ads. For businesses looking to expand their reach, including Instagram in the marketing plan is no longer optional. It is crucial for staying relevant and connecting with today’s consumers.
